History
While Horizon Oil may be a relatively new name in the oil marketing sector, its operational roots trace back to 1960. As a family-owned enterprise with 100% private equity, the business has been passed down through three generations, carrying forward a strong legacy of excellence and industry expertise.
The foundation of this business was laid in 1960 by Rafique Hussain, who established Zemindara Oil Company. Initially, the company specialized in the trading of lubricant oils sourced from Jamia Petroleum in Karachi and transported to Punjab via railway networks. Expanding its footprint, Zemindara Oil Company quickly established a strong presence across multiple districts in Punjab.
Over time, the business diversified into the trading of refined petroleum products such as diesel, kerosene, and petrol. Recognizing the growing demand for logistics solutions in the petroleum sector, the company also entered the transportation industry. Through its reliability and efficiency, it soon became a trusted carriage service provider for major industry players, including Shell, PSO, Total, Attock, Hascol, and others.
Building on this rich legacy, the current leadership envisioned a more modern and integrated approach to the oil marketing business. This vision led to the establishment of Horizon Oil in 2012, ushering in a new era of innovation, expansion, and excellence in Pakistan’s energy sector.
